What Makes This Bean Special?

It’s rare to find a decaf that holds onto the original characteristics of its bean, but this one does just that! Even after decaffeination, it retains its natural flavors.

Decaffeination Process

This coffee goes through the sugarcane decaffeination process, where the beans are first soaked in a water and steam solution, causing them to swell for easier caffeine extraction. Then, the beans undergo an 8-hour Ethyl Acetate (EA) wash, which effectively removes the caffeine.

EA, a natural compound derived from sugarcane, binds with the chlorogenic acids in the caffeine, separating it from the bean. The beans are then thoroughly cleaned with water and steam, ensuring the natural flavors and fruity complexity remain intact without the use of excessive heat or pressure.
