Colombia Rum Aged
$27.99 – $99.99
Our Favourite Alcohol-Infused CoffeeÂ
What Makes This Coffee Special?Â
We have been on the lookout for a new producer to continue our beloved rum-infused coffee after our previous supplier stopped production. Then we found out our Whisky coffee producers, the Hoyos family, would be glad to produce a batch of Rum-infused coffee for us, and we were elated. And earlier this year, we were fortunate to meet Miguel Hoyos in Brisbane and hear firsthand about their family’s coffee journey and innovative development.
This new batch brings some exciting changes compared to the previous one. This batch is processed with a full wash and then aged in white oak rum barrels, unlike the previous natural processing method. This difference gives the coffee a new flavour profile- while the familiar rum and raisin notes are still present, you will also discover hints of lychee, nectarine, and peach.
This unique batch is a must-try!

Coffee Unveiled: The Farm
The Producers
In the early 1960s, Gustavo Hoyos and his family found a treasure in the Colombian mountains—a beautiful piece of land on “Alto de la Paz,” or the “Mountain of Peace.” This land, with its rich tradition of coffee cultivation, became the foundation of their legacy at Hacienda La Esperanza.
Spanning 80 hectares of fertile, volcanic soil, the farm is a vibrant landscape of lush green coffee trees, nourished by the pure waters of the “Campo Alegre” river. The farm’s soft, rolling hills and ruby-red cherries hint at the exceptional quality of coffee within. Alongside the river stand “Guadua” trees, which protect the land and create a sanctuary for the birds that call La Esperanza home.
The heart and soul of La Esperanza are its workers, many of whom have been with the farm since childhood. They are provided with the tools, comfort, and support needed to cultivate world-class coffee. Under the stewardship of Felipe Hoyos and his son Miguel, the farm produces high-quality varietals such as Colombia, Castillo, and Cenicafe 1 at altitudes of 1,350 to 1,500 meters above sea level.
With certifications from UTZ Khape and FLO-Cert, La Esperanza’s coffee is recognized globally for its quality. Every bean from this magical farm on the “Mountain of Peace” tells the story of the Hoyos family’s commitment to excellence, sustainability, and the rich spirit of Colombian coffee culture.
