Our Mighty Decaf stands out for its caffeine extraction method, utilising the Swiss mountain water process, which removes 99.9% of caffeine from the coffee bean. After the processing, the beans delivers a clean-tasting decaf with a rich body and mouthfeel, akin to regular coffee.

Wonder what is the difference between our 2 decafs, Mighty Decaf and Colombia Finca Las Flores Decaf?

  1. Decaffeination Method
  • Mighty Decaf undergoes the Swiss mountain water process, using water extraction and a proprietary carbon filter.
  • Colombia Finca Las Flores Decaf utilises the Sugarcane process, employing a natural solvent (Ethyl Acetate). Both methods ensure no chemical residues in the beans, though the Swiss process may leave trace amounts of carbon due to its filtration.

2. Caffeine levels

  • Swiss mountain water process removes 99.9% of caffeine, while Sugarcane process removes about 97%.

  3. Flavour profiles

  • Both decafs offer exceptional flavours, yet the Sugarcane process is reputed for better preserving the green bean’s structure.
